Un Viaje a Marruecos is a local Morocco tour operator based in Marrakech. We are the same team behind Morocco Excursions, and we have spent more than two decades organizing trips across the country, from quick day trips into the Atlas Mountains to two-week routes that cross the Sahara and the imperial cities.
We do not resell tours from a catalog. We plan the routes, drive them, and stay in touch with you from the first message until the last drop-off.
Our story
It started with Hassan, our founder. Hassan still drives and guides many of our trips himself, and if you read our client reviews you will see his name come up again and again. Over the years, the team has grown around the same idea: treat every traveler as a guest, not a booking number.
Today, travelers also meet drivers and guides such as Ali, Ahmed, Abdrahime and Salem, who are named by past clients in their reviews. They know where to stop for the best view of the Tizi n’Tichka pass, which camp in Erg Chebbi serves the best dinner and how to time the Todra Gorge before the tour buses arrive.
A local Morocco tour operator, from start to finish
When you book with us, you deal directly with the people who run your trip. That matters on the road. If a flight is delayed or you want an extra hour in Chefchaouen, a quick message to your driver is enough. There is no foreign office to call and no time-zone gap to work around.
Our drivers and guides speak English, Spanish and French, and we can arrange Portuguese on request. Many of our English-speaking travelers come from the United States, Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago and Puerto Rico, and we know the questions you tend to ask: how long the flight connection takes, what to wear, how much cash to bring. How we work
- Private tours. Your own air-conditioned vehicle and driver. The price per person depends on how many of you travel. See all private Morocco tours.
- Small-group tours. A shared minibus, a fixed price per person and a maximum of 17 travelers. Ideal for solo travelers and couples on a budget. See our small-group tours.
- Tailor-made trips. Tell us your dates, interests and budget, and we will design a route around you, whether that is a honeymoon in Morocco or a family trip with kids.
Booking is simple. You reserve with a deposit online via PayPal, using a PayPal account or a debit or credit card, and you pay the balance when you arrive. Our prices are set in euros, and any figures in US dollars or other currencies are approximate. Read the full booking terms before you pay.
Responsible travel
We want the places we visit to stay worth visiting. In practice, that means a few simple habits:
- We work with family-run riads, kasbahs and desert camps, so more of what you spend stays in local communities.
- We include stops at cooperatives, such as the women’s argan oil cooperatives on the way to the Ourika Valley and Essaouira.
- We ask for consent before photos of people, and we brief you on local customs before you meet nomad families or visit villages.
- We keep group tours small, at no more than 17 travelers, to limit our footprint in fragile places like the Erg Chebbi dunes.
